Take a Break:
Take the time to read a book, see a movie, or engage in other leisure activities. Caregivers need time to relax, too.

Learn As Much As You Can

Take this opportunity to learn all that you can about Parkinson’s disease. In particular, try reading about Parkinson’s disease symptoms, treatments, and current news. Materials you get from a patient’s doctor or books from your local library may be helpful.

Take Care of Yourself, Too

Are you feeling overburdened? Try talking about how you’re feeling with a close friend or family member. Caregivers go through changes, too. As a caregiver, you are working closely with and caring for a patient with Parkinson’s disease. Seeing a patient go through the stages of Parkinson’s disease can be stressful.

Make arrangements for others to occasionally provide care for the patient so that you can get a break.
