REQUIP may be right for you if you’re in either the early or advanced stages of Parkinson’s disease. Taking REQUIP may help delay the time until you need levodopa (L-dopa), another medication for Parkinson's disease, while helping you maintain your activities of daily living (such as walking, writing, talking, and dressing). If you are already taking levodopa, adding REQUIP may help reduce the levodopa dose that you need to take each day. REQUIP is effective in both early and advanced stages of Parkinson’s disease.

Currently, there is no cure for Parkinson’s disease. Medical researchers are working to find ways to stop the damage to nerve cells in the brain that occurs in Parkinson’s disease patients. In the meantime, there are many ways, including medicine, to help you gain more control of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

A doctor is your best resource for devising a management program for Parkinson’s disease. Together, you can devise a management program that helps minimize your symptoms while also maintaining your activities of daily living. A doctor is also the best person to consult with to find the right combination of medication, therapy, education, support, and counseling to assist you with your Parkinson’s disease symptoms.

Together, you and your doctor should follow your progress and symptoms to help make your treatment program effective.
