REQUIP is a prescription medication designed to treat the signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease. REQUIP belongs to a group of medicines called dopamine agonists (pronounced DOPE-a-meen AG-oh-nists) that imitate the effect of dopamine in the brain to help control movement.

REQUIP helps improve control of various body movements that begin to slow or become irregular in early Parkinson’s disease. REQUIP also helps reduce the amount of time during the day when treatment often "wears off" or is not as effective.

REQUIP helps people with Parkinson’s disease maintain their ability to do many daily activities, such as walking, writing, talking, and dressing.

Your doctor may prescribe REQUIP alone or may add it to medicine you are already taking.

You, your doctor, and your family and friends can all work together on your management program.
